New Salernitana boss Paulo Sousa will receive a much-needed defensive reinforcement in the coming weeks when veteran central defender Federico Fazio returns from the injury.

The former Roma man, who joined the club last January, has been out of action for the past month due to a calf injury. Though, he’s predicted to be back to full health within the next couple weeks and available to help the Campania side in their fight to avoid relegation.

“My family and I are doing well in Salerno,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I have no intention of leaving here. I don’t just want to be here next season but well beyond that and add some experience to the club.”

“A special bond was created with everyone when the club avoided relegation last season. I want my journey at Salernitana to continue so the club can become a mainstay in Serie A.”
