Italian financial authorities continue to focus in on the country’s top football league as the Guardia di Finanza carried out searches Wednesday at the headquarters of Lazio, Roma, and Salernitana.

Authorities are investigating various financial transactions, including transfer deals, related to all three clubs.

“AS Roma confirms an investigation has been launched against the club as well as current and previous executives,” announced the Giallorossi.

“The club is working with the relevant authorities and hopes full clarity on the matter will arrive as soon as possible.”

The Biancocelesti also published their own statement confirming any and all relevant documentation related to the club’s financial dealings “are at the full disposal for all relevant authorities and we look forward to any doubts related to the suspected offences are dispelled swiftly.”

Meanwhile, Salernitana announced the investigation doesn’t involve the club’s current ownership. Lazio president Claudio Lotito sold the Campanian side in 2022 to Danilo Iervolino.

“While Salernitana confirms an investigation was launched into the club’s financials, the time period being looked into pre-dates the current ownership group,” they wrote.
