Mexico international and former Ajaccio, Standard Liege, and Club América goalkeeper Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa is officially a new Salernitana player.
The Granata announced the acquisition of the 37 year-old on a free transfer after his contract with the Mexican side came to an end earlier this month.
Ochoa has signed a six-months long contract with the club plus an option to extend the deal by an additional season.
He’ll wear the number 13 shirt while giving manager Davide Nicola a new option between the sticks. So far this season, Luigi Sepe has served as the team’s first choice shot-stopper, however, the club have been on the hunt for an upgrade.
